Lead the engineering efforts for an AI email app designed to organize life with minimal prompting. You will shape the architecture across backend services, APIs, and client applications, ensuring high reliability for long-running workflows.
This hands-on leadership role involves staying close to the code, making critical architectural decisions, and mentoring a small team of senior engineers. The goal is to turn AI capabilities into robust, shippable product experiences that reduce hallucinations and improve task completion.
What you'll do
- Own application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop
- Design reliable systems for AI workflows including state and orchestration
- Build APIs connecting AI systems to real-world product experiences
- Lead and mentor a small team of senior engineers
- Make trade-offs across latency, reliability, cost, and security
- Establish production foundations like observability and monitoring
- Partner with ML leadership to ship robust product features
What you'll need
- Significant experience leading engineering for complex systems
- Strong background building and shipping backend systems in production
- Experience building AI-powered products or integrating LLMs
- Ability to make technical decisions with incomplete information
- Comfortable working across backend and client platforms
- High standards for code quality and engineering fundamentals
