You will lead the Platform Engineering org end-to-end, managing engineering managers across infrastructure, data, DevEx, and AI. The role requires balancing architectural trade-offs, defining platform roadmaps, and ensuring product engineering teams have reliable paved paths for development.
As a manager of managers, you will coach leaders, drive AI-native development practices, and own company-level platform objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to build scalable systems while maintaining high standards for reliability and operational readiness.
What you'll do
- Own platform objectives and translate priorities into a technical roadmap
- Make build-vs-buy and architecture decisions across infrastructure and data
- Coach engineering managers with clear feedback and growth plans
- Drive adoption of AI-native workflows and engineering best practices
- Treat product teams as customers to measure satisfaction and prioritize needs
- Ensure system reliability through SLAs, SLOs, and incident response accountability
- Partner with Security, Ops, and Data functions on platform requirements
What you'll need
- 2+ years managing managers who have direct reports
- 10+ years in technical roles with strong individual contributor background
- Proven experience owning platform, infrastructure, or data areas
- Track record of building platform practices across multiple teams
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing engineering managers
- Ability to make and defend architectural and build-vs-buy trade-offs
- Daily use of LLM-based tools and ability to drive team adoption
- Excellent written communication skills for articulating strategy

- Experience running infrastructure or data platforms at meaningful scale
- Built developer platforms with high internal adoption rates
- Used AI-native workflows to change how teams design and ship software
- Experience leading remote-first, distributed engineering teams
- Network of high-quality platform and infrastructure engineering talent
