Lead the new Prepaid Cards team, expanding card types and launching programs in new geographies. You will shape the roadmap and processes while maintaining a low-meeting, written-first culture that prioritizes deep work.
What you'll do
- Coach engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and developmental planning
- Set technical direction while ensuring engineers own their decisions
- Partner with product and design to scope projects based on business goals
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and communicate risks early
- Improve team workflows by addressing friction in planning and tooling
What you'll need
- 8+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in management or tech lead
- Strong commitment to developing people through clear, actionable feedback
- Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and guide independent decision-making
- Clear communication skills tailored to different audiences and contexts
- Judgment on delegation to support the team without becoming a bottleneck
- Business sense to weigh priorities against customer needs and goals
- Active use of AI in work and ability to guide team on AI adoption
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, or GCP is a plus
