Join BJAK as an Engineering Manager to guide a high-performing team developing scalable products for millions of users in Southeast Asia. You will balance technical depth with people leadership, driving delivery from concept to production while maintaining high engineering standards.
This position requires a hands-on leader who collaborates across product, design, and AI teams. You will own engineering outcomes, improve processes, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement in a fully remote environment.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers
- Own engineering delivery ensuring speed and reliability
- Drive technical architecture for APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Set standards for code quality, testing, and security
- Conduct architecture reviews and debug critical issues
- Coach engineers through feedback and performance management
- Improve tooling and automation for team efficiency
- Monitor production systems and resolve incidents
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering background with production experience
- Proven experience leading or managing software engineers
- Technical depth in backend, frontend, or cloud infrastructure
- Ability to make sound architectural trade-offs
- Track record of shipping products from idea to launch
- Strong people leadership and coaching skills
- Product sense connecting tech to business outcomes
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and fast pace
- Strong English communication skills
