Join BJAK as an Engineering Manager to guide a high-performing team scaling products for millions of users in Southeast Asia. You will balance technical depth with people leadership, driving engineering quality and speed while collaborating with product, design, and AI teams.
This position requires a hands-on leader who stays close to the code, makes sound architectural choices, and fosters a culture of ownership and continuous improvement in a fully remote, global environment.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers
- Own engineering delivery ensuring speed without compromising quality
- Drive technical architecture for APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Set standards for code quality, testing, security, and observability
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and debugging sessions
- Coach engineers through feedback and performance management
- Improve engineering processes, tooling, and automation
- Monitor production systems and resolve incidents effectively
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering background with production system experience
- Proven experience leading or managing software engineering teams
- Technical depth in backend, frontend, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Ability to make trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Track record of taking products from idea to launch and production
- Comfortable reviewing designs and debugging complex production issues
- Strong people leadership and ability to build high-performing teams
- Product sense connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
