BJAK is expanding its mobile-first insurance and financial platform across Southeast Asia. As an Engineering Manager, you will guide a high-performing team in shipping scalable products that help millions manage their money.
You will balance technical depth with people leadership, driving engineering standards while ensuring rapid delivery. The position requires close collaboration with product, design, and AI teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead engineers across frontend, backend, and full stack development
- Own engineering delivery ensuring speed without compromising quality
- Drive technical architecture for APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Set standards for code quality, testing, security, and observability
- Coach engineers through feedback and performance management
- Improve processes and automation to support scale
- Monitor production systems and resolve incidents
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering background with production experience
- Proven experience leading or managing software engineers
- Technical depth in backend, frontend, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Ability to make sound architectural trade-offs for scalability
- Track record of taking products from idea to production launch
- Strong people leadership and coaching skills
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving clear outcomes
- Strong English communication skills
