Lead a high-leverage team of AI engineers and researchers building systems for AI-enabled products and model inference. You will manage people and technical roadmaps, driving delivery from applied ML features to scalable production infrastructure.
This hybrid leadership role requires balancing day-to-day team management with technical oversight. You will review designs, unblock engineering tradeoffs, and represent the team to other leaders while staying hands-on with modern AI platforms.
What you'll do
- Manage, coach, and grow AI/ML engineers and researchers
- Translate ambiguous goals into scoped engineering plans
- Co-own roadmap for inference offering reliability and scaling
- Partner with scientists to move models from experiment to production
- Set engineering standards for code quality and incident response
- Collaborate with Product and Infrastructure to remove blockers
- Report progress and risks to engineering leadership
What you'll need
- 7+ years in technical leadership or engineering management
- Strong prior track record as hands-on engineer or researcher
- Experience building AI/ML platform or inference infrastructure
- Knowledge of model training, evaluation, and deployment lifecycle
- Fluency in model serving frameworks like vLLM or Triton
- Ability to manage both researchers and engineers effectively
- Strong judgment in scoping research-adjacent projects
