Supernal builds intelligent, agentic workflows that function as AI employees for small and medium businesses. As a Mason Manager, you will guide teams of engineers who construct these systems on the company's proprietary platform.
This position blends people management with deep technical oversight. You will ensure reliable, high-quality shipping of automation solutions while coaching engineers and refining development standards.
What you'll do
- Lead multiple engineering pods and own delivery outcomes including scope and quality
- Translate ambiguous requests into clear execution plans and acceptance criteria
- Enforce production standards for testing, monitoring, documentation, and rollouts
- Act as technical escalation point for integrations, data modeling, and reliability issues
- Establish team processes such as QA gates, review checklists, and incident loops
- Drive prioritization and capacity planning to remove blockers across workstreams
- Hire, onboard, and manage performance through coaching and clear feedback
- Develop internal leaders by mentoring and delegating ownership effectively
What you'll need
- 5+ years building production systems as a software or automation engineer
- 2+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams with shared standards
- Deep comfort with APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and data stores like Postgres
- Strong understanding of reliability patterns such as idempotency and retries
- Proven mindset for quality assurance, observability, and regression prevention
- Experience with applied AI delivery including prompt iteration and eval harnesses
- Fluent English communication skills for aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders
