You will lead the App Primitives team, which owns shared building blocks such as comments, notifications, event logs, and feature flags. Your work enables product teams to build quickly by providing reliable underlying infrastructure.
This position combines technical architecture with people management. You will set the technical direction for data models and UI primitives while growing senior engineers and technical leads within the team.
What you'll do
- Hire, develop, and manage senior engineers and technical leads
- Define strategy for shared primitives like notifications and feature flags
- Steward interfaces between platform systems and product teams
- Partner with engineering leaders to identify friction and prioritize investments
- Set technical direction for backend services and UI components
- Manage cross-team dependencies and stakeholder expectations autonomously
What you'll need
- At least five years of engineering experience
- Two or more years managing engineering teams
- Experience leading platform or shared services teams
- Technical fluency across full stack, backend, and API design
- Strong collaboration skills with product and design leaders
- Track record of hiring senior talent in competitive markets
- Ability to deliver across concurrent workstreams with limited oversight
- Daily use of AI tools to enhance workflow and output quality
