Join Ashby as an Engineering Manager to help build a culture where engineers own product specs and drive projects end-to-end. You will manage a growing European team, focusing on individual growth, process improvement, and maintaining technical depth without becoming a bottleneck.
What you'll do
- Coach engineers to take ownership of loosely defined projects
- Provide feedback on product and technical specifications
- Debug issues and ship small fixes to stay technically current
- Build automation to improve team operations and workflows
- Manage up to six direct reports within the European team
What you'll need
- Passion for both people management and hands-on coding
- Ability to hold deep technical conversations across the stack
- Experience giving difficult feedback and driving high standards
- Strong empathy and communication skills for organizational change
- Thrives in high-trust environments with minimal process
Nice to have
- Experience with typed languages like TypeScript
- Background in building developer tooling or abstractions
- History of recruiting and growing exceptional engineering talent
