ClickUp is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to guide a business-critical team focused on collaborative document editing. You will provide technical direction, ensure code quality, and mentor engineers while working closely with product and design teams to deliver scalable, high-performance software.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with proven leadership experience. You will drive innovation in the Docs platform, manage technical debt, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within a fast-paced, AI-focused environment.
What you'll do
- Provide hands-on technical guidance on architecture and design
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers
- Drive development of new features ensuring scalability
- Collaborate with product managers and designers on goals
- Oversee code reviews and enforce coding standards
- Stay updated on collaborative editing and web trends
- Ensure stability and performance of the Docs platform
What you'll need
- Proficiency in Node.js and relational databases
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams
- Strong ability to mentor and develop technical talent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
