You will build and lead a group of engineers creating an object storage product on the Render platform. The role blends technical leadership with product thinking, partnering with product managers and designers to translate user needs into scalable systems.
Your responsibilities include guiding technical direction, developing engineers, and ensuring the team ships meaningful improvements quickly. You will help shape the future of intelligent cloud infrastructure designed for modern AI development.
What you'll do
- Build and lead a team of object storage engineers with mentorship and guidance
- Drive execution on product initiatives from ideation through launch
- Partner with Product, Design, and Infra teams to define technical solutions
- Guide system design decisions and navigate architectural tradeoffs
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Break down complex problems into incremental milestones for quick value delivery
- Ensure the team understands the developer experience and customer impact
What you'll need
- 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products with downstream business impact
- Experience building stateful services is highly preferred
- 2+ years of experience managing people, hiring, and performance management
- Strong technical background in system design and architecture
- Product-oriented mindset to translate business goals into engineering roadmaps
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution and high quality
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience building products for developer platforms or DevTools
- Background in highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure
- Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling and processes
- Track record of collaboration with product and support teams for adoption
