You will manage the team building perception and ML capabilities for HavocAI’s autonomous systems. Your focus is on translating mission requirements into engineering priorities and ensuring reliable field deployment.
The role requires balancing technical guidance with team development. You will partner with Autonomy, Embedded, and Product teams to deliver solutions for complex environments.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a team of perception, ML, and software engineers
- Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery against roadmaps
- Guide architecture decisions for computer vision and sensor fusion
- Oversee model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Autonomy, Hardware, and Product teams
- Translate customer and mission requirements into engineering plans
- Establish engineering practices for design reviews and testing
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor high-performing engineering talent
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
- 7+ years experience in perception, ML, or robotics engineering
- 2+ years of direct people-management experience
- Strong understanding of computer vision and sensor fusion
- Experience deploying ML capabilities in real-world systems
- Ability to manage technical roadmaps and dependencies
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in relevant technical field
- Experience managing Perception or Autonomy teams
- Background in defense, aerospace, or maritime systems
- Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorRT, CUDA, or Kubernetes
- Experience with multimodal sensors like LiDAR or radar
- Active or prior security clearance
