You will bridge the gap between customer success and product engineering by embedding with large school districts. Your work includes designing solutions, implementing integrations with student information systems, and ensuring production stability for Edia’s AI platform.
This position requires turning ambiguous customer needs into concrete technical designs and shipping full-stack functionality. You will own the technical relationship from discovery through launch, identifying opportunities to convert custom requests into reusable core platform features.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with district IT and operations teams to understand systems and workflows
- Design and implement integrations with SIS platforms like PowerSchool and Clever
- Build REST API connections, SFTP pipelines, and SSO rostering flows
- Debug schema mismatches, authentication issues, and data quality failures
- Develop testing, observability, and recovery mechanisms for integrations
- Convert one-off customer solutions into reusable platform capabilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap based on field insights
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- At least four years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in programming and quick adaptation to new codebases
- Experience building backend services and data integrations via REST APIs
- Proficiency in debugging across application code, data, and infrastructure
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and production system accountability
- Excellent communication skills with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments to discover real problems
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Familiarity with AWS services
- Background in React or full-stack product development
- Knowledge of SIS, LMS, rostering, or education-data integrations
- Previous work in forward-deployed engineering or technical consulting
