As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Clutch, you bridge the gap between sold AI solutions and live production systems. You work directly with credit unions to integrate their core banking systems, configure agents, and manage the technical implementation from kickoff to go-live.
This is a senior engineering position requiring strong TypeScript skills and the ability to make technical decisions on-site. You will write production code, handle complex API integrations, and translate field insights into platform improvements while traveling to customer locations as needed.
What you'll do
- Build integrations to core banking and loan origination systems
- Author and tune agent prompts, tools, and evaluation suites
- Lead technical implementation from discovery through go-live
- Conduct live testing sessions with credit union staff on-site
- Develop reusable capabilities for the internal Agents Platform
- Create implementation playbooks for AI Operations teams
- Make real-time technical judgment calls during customer meetings
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or Fintech
- Senior-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js backends
- Experience with NestJS, CQRS, and dependency injection
- Strong skills in secure API integration and webhook handling
- Knowledge of OAuth, machine-to-machine auth, and secrets management
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time within the US
- Comfortable communicating technical recommendations to executives
Nice to have
- Experience with voice and telephony tools like LiveKit or Twilio
- Familiarity with Temporal or event-driven orchestration patterns
- Background in Python programming language
- Prior integration experience with core banking or LOS systems
- Domain knowledge in credit unions or banking sectors
