As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly inside customer environments to turn platform commitments into production outcomes. You will design, build, and deploy integrations while partnering with internal engineering teams to improve the core product based on field feedback.
What you'll do
- Embed with strategic customers from discovery through production rollout
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and working software
- Build and deploy customer-specific integrations and data pipelines
- Troubleshoot distributed systems on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure
- Create reusable automation, connectors, and delivery playbooks
- Lead technical workshops and enable customer engineering teams
- Provide structured field feedback to Product and Engineering teams
What you'll need
- 6+ years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience
- Experience in customer-facing post-sales or forward-deployed roles
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Go for production systems
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and networking
- Experience with modern data tools like Spark, Kafka, or Airflow
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and Terraform
- Ability to navigate enterprise security and compliance constraints
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated industries like finance or healthcare
- Knowledge of Trino, Iceberg, dbt, or DataHub
- Background in modernizing legacy Hadoop or ETL systems
- Experience building production AI applications on governed data
- Prior work in startup or growth-stage environments
