You will serve as the primary technical contact for customers, managing integrations and deploying solutions directly at mine sites. The work requires translating operational needs into scalable technical implementations while ensuring reliability in mission-critical settings.
This position blends software engineering with field operations, requiring you to prototype tools onsite and collaborate closely with the core engineering team. You will help shape the forward deployed function at an AI-first company founded by former Palantir and Blend Labs leaders.
What you'll do
- Spend approximately 25% of time onsite with customers across the US
- Shadow operators to understand workflows and integration requirements
- Rapidly prototype tools and integrations in the field to validate ideas
- Troubleshoot complex operational issues in varied or degraded environments
- Translate field insights into technical requirements for the engineering team
- Lead technical integration work including APIs and data pipelines
- Support pre-sales efforts by demonstrating product value to prospects
- Ensure smooth deployment and operational reliability for customers
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of software engineering or forward deployed experience
- Strong technical fluency with ability to read, write, and debug code
- Experience with enterprise, industrial, or government products
- Mastery of core development tools such as Git and Linux
- Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and drive projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders
- Comfortable with AI-assisted coding and rapid prototyping
- Based in the US as a citizen or permanent resident
Nice to have
- Onsite experience with customers in field or operational environments
- Background deploying software in industrial or government settings
- Familiarity with IoT systems, cloud infrastructure, or real-time data
- Experience navigating sensitive or mission-critical customer environments
- Knowledge of mining industry or industrial safety regulations
