Join SpaceXSI to build Super Intelligence technologies, including Colossus supercomputers and Grok models. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with customers to identify bottlenecks and ship production AI agents that solve real business problems. You own the entire lifecycle from discovery to launch, ensuring systems remain operational after deployment.
What you'll do
- Lead discovery sessions to identify high-value use cases and define success metrics
- Design and ship production AI agents and workflows using Grok models
- Harden systems with monitoring, evals, and iterations based on real usage
- Integrate AI tools into customer authentication, data, and delivery systems
- Measure outcomes such as cost savings, error rates, and cycle time improvements
- Collaborate with senior leaders to communicate technical tradeoffs and results
- Ensure customer teams can operate deployed systems independently
What you'll need
- Five or more years in software engineering, ML engineering, or data science
- Proficiency in writing and reviewing production code in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proven track record of owning customer outcomes and shipping scoped systems
- Experience building and debugging AI-native workflows or agents in production
- Strong background in production reliability, including metrics and incident response
- Ability to build end-to-end solutions covering frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Fluency in both Japanese and English languages
Nice to have
- Two or more years in customer-facing roles leading discovery conversations
- Deep knowledge of agents, tool-calling, eval harnesses, or retrieval systems
- Experience as a forward-deployed or solutions engineer embedded with clients
- Background as a founding engineer owning an AI product end to end
