As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Socket, you will act as the primary technical advisor for enterprise accounts, ensuring successful implementation of the security platform. You will combine software development expertise with customer engagement to write custom code, build integrations, and optimize security configurations.
This position requires strong Python skills and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable technical solutions while supporting the growth of professional services offerings.
What you'll do
- Serve as technical advisor for 5-8 enterprise accounts
- Write custom code, scripts, and integrations for clients
- Lead technical onboarding and implementation workshops
- Develop custom SAST and CVE rules for customer environments
- Coordinate technical rollouts across complex enterprise systems
- Create documentation and reusable implementation playbooks
- Translate customer feedback into insights for product teams
- Conduct on-site security assessments and configuration reviews
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong coding skills in Python
- Experience building APIs, webhooks, and automation scripts
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Comfortable with 20-30% travel for onsite engagements
- Customer-first mindset with problem-solving focus
Nice to have
- Knowledge of security tools and vulnerability management
- Experience with software composition analysis
- Familiarity with open source ecosystems
- Background in supply chain security concepts
- Scripting experience for DevOps or security use cases
