You will shape the security strategy and build programs from scratch for a platform serving over 250,000 students. This high-visibility position requires embedding security into the development workflow and protecting public funds.
The team operates at the intersection of GovTech, EdTech, and FinTech. You will partner with cross-functional groups to manage risks across the technology stack while maintaining rapid delivery speeds.
What you'll do
- Own the entire security posture and drive best practices across the stack
- Identify and remediate security risks in products and infrastructure
- Perform static and dynamic vulnerability assessments
- Maintain and mature the SOC 2 Type II compliance program
- Design security controls from application layer to cloud infrastructure
- Embed security into CI/CD pipelines and code review processes
- Translate complex findings into actionable steps for stakeholders
- Leverage AI tools for threat detection and vulnerability analysis
What you'll need
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with security focus
- Hands-on experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 frameworks
- Proficiency with SAST, DAST, and SCA tools
- Experience applying AI-assisted tooling for security operations
- Track record of managing security projects end-to-end
- Knowledge of penetration testing techniques and common vulnerabilities
- Authorized to work full-time in the United States
