Join the newly formed Developer Experience Engineering team at ClassDojo to define and build the foundations of the company's internal developer platform. You will treat engineers as customers, creating high-leverage tools and AI-native workflows that remove friction from the software development lifecycle. This founding role offers the chance to shape technical direction and establish trusted paved paths for the entire engineering organization.
What you'll do
- Design and build internal platforms and tooling to improve development workflows
- Identify opportunities to reduce developer friction and increase engineering velocity
- Build practical AI-powered workflows for writing, reviewing, and shipping code
- Partner with product, infrastructure, and security teams to solve real pain points
- Create reusable automation, documentation, and self-service capabilities
- Use metrics and feedback to measure impact and continuously improve developer experience
- Contribute to technical direction and engineering standards for the new team
What you'll need
- 7-10+ years of experience building production software in modern organizations
- Experience solving organization-wide engineering problems rather than just product features
- Product mindset when building internal platforms and tools
- Strong technical judgment on when to build, simplify, or adopt existing solutions
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and help build a new platform team from scratch
- Skill in building trust and influence through partnership rather than authority
- Focus on engineering craftsmanship, maintainability, and long-term platform health
Nice to have
- Previous experience in Developer Experience or Platform Engineering teams
- Work with internal developer platforms or engineering productivity initiatives
- Background in CI/CD, release engineering, or software delivery systems
- Experience with AI-assisted software development or developer tooling
- Knowledge of engineering productivity measurement frameworks like DORA or SPACE
- Experience in high-growth organizations with impactful platform investments
