Join a lean, bootstrapped team building a real-time SERP API for Fortune 500 companies and startups. You will own the entire frontend experience, from the dashboard and API playground to documentation and marketing sites.
This hybrid role requires both design taste and engineering discipline. You will take features from Figma mockups to merged pull requests, ensuring a premium feel for technical users while maintaining high performance and clean code.
What you'll do
- Take features from Figma designs to production code including ViewComponents and Stimulus controllers
- Own the logged-in dashboard experience including analytics, billing, and API key management
- Build interactive API playgrounds that allow developers to test real requests live
- Maintain coherence across documentation, marketing sites, and the component system
- Create honest data visualizations using a consistent semantic color system
- Optimize JavaScript bundles and remove dead CSS or unused controllers
- Make independent decisions on polish levels and shipping priorities without PM oversight
What you'll need
- Proven experience designing and building production frontends with links to show work
- Strong proficiency in server-rendered component stacks preferably Rails and Hotwire
- Fluency in Tailwind CSS and professional design tools like Figma
- Ability to explain design tradeoffs clearly in written PR descriptions
- Self-directed workflow capable of turning vague goals into shipped features
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Experience redesigning live SaaS dashboards or developer consoles
- Proficiency with ViewComponent, Stimulus, or maintaining custom design systems
- Background in creating data-dense charts and honest data visualization
- Experience optimizing JavaScript bundles or implementing frontend error tracking
- Public design contributions such as portfolio sites or open-source UI work
