Join the Platform Engineering organization at Wealthsimple, where you will build the foundational systems that other engineers rely on. You will work on either Platform Engineering, focusing on developer experience and reliability, or Data Platforms, handling data ingestion and analytics infrastructure. Your work will directly impact how the company ships code and manages data at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and build production-grade distributed systems
- Own technical architecture within your specific domain
- Improve reliability, scalability, and performance of core systems
- Collaborate closely with internal engineers or data practitioners
- Participate in operational ownership and on-call rotations
- Lead projects end-to-end from design to production deployment
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of experience building production systems
- Strong background in distributed or data-intensive systems
- Proven experience owning system design decisions
- Operational experience including production support and debugging
- History of building systems used by other engineers or data teams
- Deep experience in either Platform Engineering or Data Engineering
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud infrastructure like AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or developer tooling
- Knowledge of dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or similar data tools
- Background in observability, reliability engineering, or data quality
- Experience working across both platform and data domains
