As Head of Platforms for AMER, you will own the architecture and delivery of cloud landing zones, data platforms, and MLOps environments on Google Cloud. You will transform recurring patterns into reusable assets, allowing teams to deploy use cases faster while ensuring security, governance, and scalability.
You will lead client conversations and technical execution, focusing on agentic operations, FinOps, and multi-consumption layers that serve both human users and AI agents. This position requires a builder-leader who can balance high-level strategy with hands-on technical contribution.
What you'll do
- Own reference architectures for GCP landing zones, data platforms, and MLOps
- Build and maintain a library of reusable infrastructure-as-code templates
- Define standards and guardrails for secure and scalable use case delivery
- Design consumption layers including semantic layers, APIs, and MCP servers
- Deploy agents to automate platform operations like incident triage and cost detection
- Implement FinOps practices to connect cloud spend with business value ROI
- Lead client engagements, scoping, and presentations for platform projects
What you'll need
- Deep hands-on expertise in designing Google Cloud production environments
- Proven track record in building reusable templates and accelerating delivery
- Experience scaling data products and AI agents from prototype to production
- Knowledge of semantic layers, BI tools, APIs, and Model Context Protocol
- Strong grounding in cloud security, identity, networking, and Terraform
- Ability to advise senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguous priorities
- Located anywhere in Canada
Nice to have
- Google Cloud Professional certifications such as Cloud Architect or Data Engineer
- Background in high-growth startups or modern enterprise transformations
- Practical experience building agents with Vertex AI or Agent Development Kit
