The Infrastructure team at WorkOS maintains the foundation for millions of requests, ensuring speed and reliability for enterprise customers. You will collaborate across the stack to support high-impact projects and design systems that scale intelligently.
This role suits engineers who enjoy balancing trade-offs between simplicity and scalability while working with autonomy. You will partner with product teams to ensure infrastructure meets reliability standards and contributes to architectural decisions.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain distributed systems for core platform functions
- Write and optimize backend services using TypeScript
- Evolve AWS usage and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Partner with product engineering to ensure scalable system design
- Build internal tools and shared infrastructure for company-wide use
- Participate in on-call rotation to resolve production incidents
- Contribute to technical design reviews and architectural discussions
- Document work and share context to support team collaboration
What you'll need
- Five or more years of professional engineering experience
- Experience designing and operating infrastructure or platform systems
- Familiarity with modern cloud environments, specifically AWS
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Comfortable working in a culture of autonomy and ownership
- Strong focus on observability, reliability, and performance

- Exposure to TypeScript or willingness to work in a TypeScript stack
