Join Instructure as an Instructional Designer to create intuitive and engaging online learning products. You will work with institutional leadership and subject matter experts to design, structure, and align content within the Canvas ecosystem.
The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on simplifying learning and personal development. You will leverage graphic design tools and HTML to ensure courses are visually appealing and accessible.
What you'll do
- Consult with client leadership to design world-class online learning experiences
- Create and structure content, activities, and assessments in Canvas LMS
- Design original visual assets using Illustrator, Photoshop, or Google Draw
- Use HTML and Rich Content Editor to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
- Collaborate with instructors and SMEs to develop engaging course materials
- Apply Universal Design for Learning guidelines to course designs
- Deliver onsite or remote workshops and training sessions as needed
- Manage multiple small to medium projects and track deliverables
What you'll need
- Exceptional instructional design experience specifically in Canvas LMS
- Strong portfolio showing eLearning design and graphic asset creation
- Background in creating digital content using instructional design best practices
- Understanding of WCAG 2.1, Universal Design for Learning, and copyright
- Proficiency in advanced graphic design software like Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with basic HTML, authoring tools, and LTIs
- Strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills
- Bachelor’s degree in education, design, marketing, or related field
Nice to have
- Understanding of credentialing, assessments, and alignment
- Master’s degree in instructional design or education technology
