You will serve as the initial point of contact for instrumentation issues in emissions test cells. Your duties include performing diagnostics, executing corrective actions, and escalating complex problems to senior staff. You will also handle routine calibrations and maintain detailed records of all support activities using digital tracking tools.
What you'll do
- Respond to test cell instrumentation issues with initial troubleshooting
- Perform routine tests, set-ups, and regulatory calibrations
- Install terminals and assemble electronic systems and harnesses
- Fabricate test rigs, fixtures, and minor mechanical assemblies
- Repair gauges, transducers, and cooling or fuel systems
- Operate data acquisition systems and interpret wiring diagrams
- Log all support activities and troubleshooting steps in PowerApps
- Prepare samples and verify equipment calibration for trusted data
- Document testing methods and results for engineers and customers
What you'll need
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- One year of relevant experience in a technical field
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and document work accurately
- Comfort working in a fast-paced test-cell or laboratory environment
- Experience with digital tools for tracking tasks and issues
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a team
- Previous hands-on experience in manufacturing or maintenance
Nice to have
- Experience in a school-to-work program in a relevant field
- Exposure to regulated environments such as ISO or calibration labs
- Background in automotive or engine testing sectors
