Join the IT Infrastructure team at Thumbtack to build and operate systems that power employee work. You will handle system administration, triage complex technical escalations, and implement integrations for key SaaS platforms.
The team focuses on delivering reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure across identity, cloud systems, and endpoint management. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve efficiency through automation and AI tools.
What you'll do
- Administer core platforms including Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, Claude, and GitHub
- Serve as escalation point for IT Support to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Triage inbound infrastructure requests and scope requirements for SSO integrations
- Build automations using Okta Workflows, Jira Automations, and Slack Workflows
- Manage data governance and maintain compliance with security standards
- Monitor system health and participate in on-call rotation for critical components
- Collaborate with teams to improve efficiency via systems design and AI tools
What you'll need
- Five or more years of IT systems engineering experience in distributed environments
- Proven track record administering Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, GitHub, and Slack
- Experience managing infrastructure as code using Terraform or GitOps
- Proficiency in building automations with workflow tools
- Strong knowledge of IAM protocols such as SAML, SCIM, LDAP, and OAuth2.0/OIDC
- Scripting proficiency in Python or Shell
- Understanding of security compliance and incident response processes
- AI-first mentality with experience enabling tools like Claude and ChatGPT
