Join BJAK as a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex systems and raise the engineering bar. This hands-on leadership position requires designing scalable architectures while remaining close to the code through writing, reviewing, and debugging.
You will guide major initiatives from idea to production, working across backend, frontend, and infrastructure. The team operates globally, focusing on building next-generation financial and productivity tools for users in Southeast Asia and beyond.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution of major engineering initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Remain hands-on by coding, prototyping, and reviewing peer code
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability
- Mentor engineers to strengthen overall team technical capability
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Collaborate with product and AI teams to ship high-quality features
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production software systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience providing technical leadership on major projects
- Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership end-to-end
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
- Willingness to stay hands-on with coding and debugging
