You will take technical ownership of complex products, balancing architecture decisions with hands-on implementation. The role requires designing scalable systems, reviewing code, and guiding engineers from idea to production.
BJAK is expanding beyond insurance into spending, saving, and investing. You will collaborate with product, design, and AI teams to ship high-quality financial applications for users in Southeast Asia and beyond.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution of major engineering initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, and debugging
- Mentor engineers and raise the team's technical capability
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Improve engineering tooling and automation to increase velocity
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Proven experience providing technical leadership to other engineers
- Ability to make architecture decisions for high-scale systems
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking full ownership
