Join BJAK as a Lead Engineer to shape the architecture and execution of complex financial products. You will balance high-level system design with hands-on implementation, ensuring scalability and reliability across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
This position demands strong technical leadership, where you guide engineers, review code, and solve difficult production problems. You will work within a distributed international team, collaborating closely with product and AI groups to deliver high-quality solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, and debugging
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, and reliability
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team
- Review technical designs and provide actionable feedback to peers
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Improve engineering tooling and automation to increase velocity
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production software systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects or teams
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale applications
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and code reviews
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking end-to-end ownership
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
