You will take technical ownership of complex products, balancing architecture and implementation while guiding other engineers. The role requires designing scalable systems across backend, frontend, and infrastructure, ensuring high code quality and reliability.
Working with product, design, and AI teams, you will break down ambiguous problems into clear engineering solutions. You are expected to remain hands-on through coding, reviews, and production problem-solving to raise the engineering bar across the distributed team.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution of major products and engineering initiatives
- Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Remain hands-on with coding, prototyping, debugging, and production support
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Mentor engineers and provide actionable feedback on designs and code
- Identify technical risks and architectural weaknesses before they escalate
- Improve engineering tooling and automation to increase team velocity
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering background with production system experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical guidance
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and code reviews
- Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams
- Strong product sense connecting technical choices to business outcomes
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership from start to finish
