As a Lead Engineer at Doit, you will take technical ownership of complex products and systems while raising the engineering bar across the team. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will design systems, write code, and guide other engineers from idea to production.
You will work closely with product, design, and AI teams to build tools that make finance smart, accessible, and safe. The role requires moving seamlessly between high-level architecture and detailed implementation to solve difficult engineering problems.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution of major products and engineering initiatives
- Design scalable and reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Stay hands-on through coding, prototyping, debugging, and production problem-solving
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team
- Review technical designs and code to provide clear, actionable feedback
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
What you'll need
- Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale systems
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and code reviews
- Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams
- Strong product sense connecting technical decisions to business outcomes
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership from start to finish
