Join BJAK as a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and raise the engineering bar. You will balance high-level architecture with hands-on implementation, guiding the team from idea to production while ensuring system reliability and scalability.
This position requires strong technical leadership without abandoning code. You will work closely with product, design, and AI teams to ship high-quality financial applications that help users manage their money effectively.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution for major products and features
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, and debugging
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, and reliability
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team
- Review technical designs and provide actionable feedback to peers
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Improve engineering tooling and automation to increase team velocity
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production software systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects or teams
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and code reviews
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking full ownership
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
