Join BJAK as a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex systems for their Travel FX App. This hands-on leadership position requires you to design scalable architectures, write code, and guide engineering initiatives from concept to production.
You will work with a distributed international team to build next-generation financial tools. The role demands strong judgment in balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability while mentoring other engineers and improving development practices.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution of major product initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, and debugging
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed and reliability
- Mentor engineers and raise the team's technical bar
- Review code and provide actionable feedback to peers
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Collaborate with product and AI teams to ship high-quality features
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and reviews
