Join BJAK as a Lead Engineer to shape the next generation of financial tools for Southeast Asia. You will take technical ownership of complex systems, guiding initiatives from concept to production while maintaining high engineering standards. This position requires a leader who remains deeply involved in coding and problem-solving.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design and execution for major product initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Remain hands-on through coding, prototyping, and debugging
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed and reliability
- Mentor engineers and raise overall team technical capability
- Review code and provide actionable feedback to peers
- Monitor production systems and resolve root causes of incidents
- Collaborate with product and AI teams to ship quality features
What you'll need
- Strong background in building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Proven experience leading major engineering projects
- Ability to make technical decisions for high-scale systems
- Willingness to stay hands-on with code and reviews
- Strong communication skills to explain technical trade-offs
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and fast-moving goals
- Fluent English for global team collaboration
