Join the team as a Lead Native App Engineer to drive the development of a new, confidential project from the ground up. You will have complete ownership of the codebase, ensuring high-quality performance and user experience across mobile and desktop platforms.
The role requires a generalist mindset capable of stretching across different frameworks while maintaining a deep focus on technical details and pragmatic delivery.
What you'll do
- Take full end-to-end ownership of the application codebase
- Build native apps for iOS and Android using React Native
- Develop desktop applications using Tauri or Electron
- Optimize performance, animations, and offline states
- Resolve complex build system issues and native code problems
- Support teammates and share knowledge within the team
- Communicate clearly through async writing and reading
What you'll need
- Strong background in native app development for iOS and Android
- Experience with React Native, preferably using Expo
- Comfortable building for desktop with Tauri or Electron
- Ability to dive into native code when necessary
- Generalist approach able to work across frameworks
- Focus on user experience and problem-solving from user perspective
- Balance technical craft with pragmatic shipping decisions
