Join the Family design team at Acorns to cover a teammate's leave from November 2026 through February 2027. You will lead design efforts for Acorns Early and Early Invest, partnering with product and engineering to deliver high-quality experiences for parents and kids.
What you'll do
- Lead design direction from problem framing to high-fidelity handoff
- Partner with product and engineering to prioritize and scope work
- Translate business goals into clear product concepts and strategies
- Design trustworthy experiences for parents and children
- Prototype and test ideas to validate direction quickly
- Mentor other designers to improve craft and consistency
- Present work to senior stakeholders to build alignment
- Contribute to the design system and support engineering QA
What you'll need
- 8+ years of product design experience with shipped mobile work
- Portfolio showing end-to-end project leadership
- Ability to set design direction and drive cross-team alignment
- Strong strategic thinking paired with visual and interaction craft
- Capacity to ramp up quickly on existing projects
- Experience guiding designers through feedback and critique
- Clear communication and storytelling skills for stakeholders
- Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, investing, or family-oriented products
