Join as the founding security and infrastructure hire, working directly with the CTO to secure cloud, application, and on-chain environments. You will hold end-to-end responsibility for security, access governance, and infrastructure reliability in a lean, cloud-native setup.
The role focuses roughly two-thirds on security engineering and one-third on infrastructure operations. You will build detection tooling, manage SOC 2 compliance, and improve CI/CD pipelines while supporting production releases.
What you'll do
- Own security posture across cloud, application, and on-chain systems
- Lead incident response including detection, forensics, and remediation
- Establish secure defaults for secrets management and IAM policies
- Build detection and alerting for anomalous traffic and abuse
- Manage SOC 2 compliance and audit-readiness initiatives
- Improve CI/CD pipelines for safe and consistent service deployment
- Harden Cloud Run, BigQuery, MySQL, and Cloudflare configurations
- Own disaster recovery capabilities and run regular restoration drills
What you'll need
- 8+ years owning company security posture end to end
- Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform security
- Strong expertise in Cloudflare WAF, DNS, and edge security
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript application environments
- Proficiency with MySQL in production environments
- Strong background in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD
- Proven incident response experience in production settings
- Must be authorized to work in and based in the United States
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial environments
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or PCI DSS standards
- Security certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, or GCP Professional
- Curiosity about Ethereum, EVM integrations, and stablecoins
- Experience building security functions from the ground up
