Canals provides software that automates operations for wholesale distributors of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC supplies. As the customer base expands, the company needs a senior engineer to manage the growing security surface of its platform.
You will balance strategic autonomy with hands-on technical work, identifying risks and driving fixes across product and infrastructure. The team operates remotely across North and South America, focusing on high-impact security outcomes rather than just issue detection.
What you'll do
- Identify high-impact security risks and lead end-to-end remediation efforts
- Manage application security tooling for code, dependencies, and secrets
- Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews
- Validate and triage findings from bug bounties and penetration tests
- Lead security monitoring, incident response, and investigation follow-through
What you'll need
- Strong background in security engineering with production system experience
- Ability to drive remediation across teams with clear prioritization
- Comfort taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring high standards
- Strong communication skills for remote, fast-moving environments
- Experience integrating security into CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows
