BJAK is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own the technical execution of large-scale systems used by millions. You will work remotely within a distributed international team, collaborating across time zones to deliver scalable backend, frontend, and infrastructure solutions. Strong English communication skills are essential for this global environment.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
- Improve engineering quality through better testing and observability
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong system design skills for high-scale applications
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding and debugging
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
