As BJAK scales its technology products, the company needs technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges. The Lead Software Engineer will own the execution of major initiatives, balancing speed, reliability, and cost while remaining deeply involved in coding and system design.
You will collaborate with a distributed international team, turning ambiguous product requirements into clear technical solutions. The role requires strong communication skills in English and the ability to influence engineering practices across multiple teams.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Write code, review peers, and debug production issues directly
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
- Improve system quality through better testing and observability
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong skills in system design for high-scale applications
- Proven track record of leading projects from design to production
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve complex problems

- Experience scaling engineering teams during significant growth
- Background operating across multiple markets or countries
