BJAK seeks a Lead Software Engineer to own technical direction and execution for major products and systems. This hands-on leadership role involves designing scalable architectures, writing code, and mentoring engineers in a global, distributed team.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
- Improve engineering quality through better testing and observability
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for high-scale applications
- Proven track record of leading projects from design to production
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and debugging
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
