BJAK seeks a hands-on technical leader to own the design and execution of major systems serving millions of users. You will drive architecture decisions, write code, and mentor engineers while solving complex engineering challenges in a distributed environment.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
- Improve engineering quality through better testing and observability
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for high-scale architectures
- Proven track record of leading projects from design to production
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding and debugging
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and influence teams
Nice to have
- Experience scaling engineering teams during significant growth
- Background operating across multiple markets or countries
