Join Higharc's founding team to transform how new homes are designed. You will bridge the gap between research and product by taking defined problems and metrics, then training, adapting, and shipping models that power the generative floor plan engine. Your work ensures these components meet strict latency and cost budgets while remaining reproducible and easy for others to extend.
What you'll do
- Build component layers around the layout synthesis engine with documented APIs
- Automate model retraining into single-command jobs with built-in benchmarks
- Manage latency and cost budgets for all learned capabilities in production
- Extend core research to support multi-story plans and real-time editing
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on MLOps and deployment strategies
- Mentor researchers and interns on software engineering best practices
- Document work through status updates, pull requests, and design notes
What you'll need
- Five or more years of professional software development experience
- At least two years training and shipping ML models to real users
- Experience carrying a model end-to-end from data prep to serving
- Fluent in Python with preference for PyTorch over TensorFlow or Keras
- Worked with geometric or structured data like CAD, BIM, or 3D geometry
- Built evaluation harnesses or benchmarks to gate code changes
- Packaged models behind APIs such as FastAPI with latency accountability
- Comfortable working remotely with teams on US Eastern time zones
- Master’s degree in CS or ML, or equivalent practical shipped work
Nice to have
- Background in architecture, building practice, or AEC software
- Experience with constraint solvers like OR-Tools CP-SAT
- Work with generative models for layouts or floor plans
- Plugin or tooling development in Rhino, Grasshopper, or Revit
- Familiarity with Hugging Face ecosystem and experiment tracking
- Cloud model serving experience on AWS or Modal
- Publications or open source contributions in relevant fields
