The AI/ML Engineering team at ClickHouse develops the Agentic Data Stack, AI Functions, and in-Console copilot. You will design backend inference services and frontend interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with modern AI frameworks. The team supports other ClickHouse groups in shipping AI capabilities across their respective surfaces.
What you'll do
- Design and implement AI features from backend inference to frontend interfaces
- Create scalable APIs connecting database capabilities with AI inference systems
- Maintain integrations with broader AI/ML ecosystem standards and tools
- Integrate models into production with monitoring, versioning, and evaluation
- Participate in daytime on-call rotation with the rest of the team
- Own ML pipelines end-to-end including data, training, and fine-tuning
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
- Exposure to working directly with AI/ML technologies
- Experience deploying AI/ML models with inference APIs and vector databases
- High level of ownership driving features from concept to production
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Applied ML experience in Python using Jupyter, PyTorch, and common libraries
- Hands-on experience with compute clusters like Ray or Slurm
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP AI/ML deployment services
- Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines
- Previous experience with ClickHouse is a significant plus
- Experience with embedding-based systems like retrieval or ranking
