Join Actai as a Member of Technical Staff in Machine Learning to develop core components for next-generation productivity tools. You will work on real production systems from day one, focusing on high reliability, persistent context, and reducing hallucinations in long-running workflows.

This position is ideal for engineers who want to strengthen their systems judgment by shipping, debugging, and iterating on large-scale ML models outside of research settings. You will collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to deliver robust, AI-powered features.

What you'll do

  • Build and improve ML components across data, training, evaluation, and inference
  • Fine-tune and adapt models within larger production systems
  • Implement evaluation and testing frameworks to understand model behavior
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for real-world and synthetic data
  • Debug model issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents
  • Ship improvements iteratively based on real user feedback
  • Work under constraints regarding latency, cost, reliability, and safety

What you'll need

  • Strong foundations in machine learning and modern neural architectures
  • Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying ML models
  • Ability to write production-quality code and learn new tools quickly
  • Curious and coachable mindset with eagerness to learn from production systems
  • Capable of working through ambiguity with guidance and growing ownership
  • Bias toward shipping, iteration, and continuous improvement

Stack

  • Python
  • PyTorch
  • JAX
  • GPUs

Hiring process

  • Applications evaluated by technical team members
  • Three to four interviews via virtual meetings or onsite
  • Prompt decision process following final interviews
