You will join the team responsible for the Modal SDK and command-line interface, aiming to enhance the experience for developers and AI agents. The work involves designing clean abstractions and developing new primitives to support evolving industry demands in AI infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Improve the developer and agent experience for the SDK and CLI
- Develop new primitives to address emerging industry needs
- Build beautiful abstractions that enhance developer productivity
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
- Work directly with users to solve their problems
What you'll need
- 5+ years developing Python, JS, or Go applications or libraries
- Experience building code used or interacted with by other developers
- Strong focus on developer ergonomics and code-as-product sense
- Knowledge of async programming and concurrency management
- High level of customer empathy and good communication skills
- Ability to work in-person in New York or Stockholm
Nice to have
- Experience building developer tools or SDKs
- Background in maintaining open-source software
- Understanding of agentic development workflows
- Familiarity with modern data, ML, or AI tools
