Join Ruby Labs as a Middle Next.js Developer to own feature development end-to-end for a core consumer product. You will work within a TypeScript monorepo, handling everything from implementation and testing to production release and observability.
The team values autonomy and strict adherence to coding conventions. You will collaborate with senior engineers on architectural decisions while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and performance in a remote environment.
What you'll do
- Build features for Next.js client and Fastify backend
- Adhere to Feature-Sliced Design conventions
- Ship changes behind feature flags and A/B tests
- Integrate third-party providers via REST APIs
- Write unit, integration, and e2e tests
- Optimize rendering, caching, and database queries
- Apply secure development practices and observability
- Break down tasks and manage sprint delivery
What you'll need
- 2+ years commercial React experience
- 1+ year with Next.js App Router and TypeScript
- Node.js backend experience with PostgreSQL
- Proficiency with TanStack Query and Zustand
- Experience with headless CMS on PostgreSQL
- Strong testing discipline with Cypress or Playwright
- Daily use of AI development tools like Claude Code
- English proficiency at B1+ level
