We are looking for an experienced engineer to provide senior-level support for Akamai CDN and Web Application Firewall technologies. You will investigate production incidents, analyze connectivity and security issues, and collaborate with internal teams to restore application functionality. This role emphasizes practical troubleshooting skills over automation or development work.

What you'll do

  • Provide senior engineering support for Akamai CDN, WAF, and application delivery.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents involving availability, performance, and security.
  • Diagnose HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, and SSL/TLS certificate issues.
  • Analyze WAF security events, blocked requests, and false positives.
  • Investigate caching, routing, and origin server communication failures.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams during incident investigations.
  • Document technical findings and recommend corrective actions.

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering or security operations.
  • Hands-on production support experience with Akamai CDN and WAF.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and SSL/TLS.
  • Experience troubleshooting web application connectivity and content delivery.
  • Ability to analyze application logs, HTTP codes, and security events.
  • Familiarity with packet analysis tools like Wireshark and curl.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.

Nice to have

  • Advanced experience with Akamai Ion or Kona Site Defender.
  • Familiarity with Akamai Bot Manager and mitigation troubleshooting.
  • Akamai technical certifications or equivalent practical experience.
  • Exposure to automated application onboarding or infrastructure-as-code.
